This is not an official stage 1 newsletter, it is simply a newsletter from a Co-owner of a villa in stage 1 and member of Reef Resort Owners Association.

Committee Meeting 28 February 2023
Minutes are due on 21 March 2023

Lot Owners are becoming more aware of body corporate matters and are taking more of an interest in our affairs.
Instead of the usual one or two turning up to a committee meeting this time we had seven owners attend the meeting.
It is easy to do. Our manager notifies owners of a meeting and all you have to do is reply and ask for the joining instructions. Owners attend as "Observers" and are not allowed to speak unless they are asked.
I will wait until the minutes come out before I comment further.

Reef Resort Owners Association - Update:
Our incorporation is due by 3 April provided there aren't any hiccups.

As an owner you are welcome to join the Reef Resort Owners Association at any time. Contact the association.

The main role for the association is to provide a forum for owners.

Invitation to make a submission to Adjudication Aplication 1286 - 2022.

Most owners would have received the invitation from the Body Coporate and Community Management (BCCM) on Wednesday 8 March 2023 by email via Archers and were totally mystified by it.
I don't blame them because there were mistakes in it. As the applicant I felt I had to step in.
When I submitted the application every attachment was seperate and had a label. When it reached owners the attachments were not labelled, they ran into each other, some were missing and there was significant duplication resulting in 281 pages?

Continuing from above, I contacted BCCM early Thursday morning and got an almost immediate apology from the senior case officer looking after the application. In an usual step I was invited to label the attachments which I did. I went further and changed the Attachment Schedule to a "Contents and Schedule of Attachments" and allocated page numbers to all the items. It was sent back before business hours on Friday complying with urgency asked for in the apology.
The new invitation has not arrived leaving owners in the dark since Wednesday. Hopefully it will arrive on Monday 13 March 2023.
