Cyclone Jasper Aftermath

I hoped to get this out earlier but the situation kept changing. The Newsport website gives a good account of what has and is happening.
The biggest problem for us seems to be getting to and from Cairns via the Captain Cook Highway. It is likely to take weeks to fix. Front Street Mossman flooded, Wonga Beach has had a terrible time and over the river the road is cut in several places. Daintree Village had a major flood.
Low lying parts of Cairns are isolated and are without power and water.

Douglas Shire Dashboard is another resource for local information.

Most of Port Douglas was without power for 53 hours between Friday afternoon and early Sunday evening and now we have not had water for 36 hours.
